My Journey Back to Success

I started this blog on Dec. 9^th, 2007, and ran it till about mid-Feb. In that time I achieved a 130,000 Technorati ranking, and about a 150,000 Alexa ranking, as well as a 4 Page Rank. I left the blog in mid Feb, just as it was becoming popular and averaging around 120 visits a day. I’m now trying to rebuild this blog, back from the ashes into a successful blog, even better then before. My first change towards doing that was changing the ugly template I had. What I have right now will not be the final change, but it is what I am going to have for probably a couple weeks. Also you may have noticed the 100,000 spam comments I got over the summer. Well I was forced to install Akismet, which I should’ve done in the first place, and then delete all the comments. So that’s why there’s only one comment on my blog. I used to have around two hundred real comments, but unfortunately there all gone now.

It’s interesting because when I started there were two other, “how to get traffic/make money online” blogs that I used to be neck and neck with; when I was still writing in February. Right now those sites have both become very successful, bradblogging.com and datmoney.com. they are now selling ads for 30 and 40 dollars, as well as technorati rankings, in the 20K, and Alexa much under 100K.

I must say I’m very impressed with their ability to have kept them going so well. I tell you this, One, for comparison of what could have been, and Two, because hopefully I will be able to get one or both on here for interviews, at some point.

The point of this blog post is to let you know what it used to be, and what I’m trying to bring it back to. Over the summer, it still averaged around 15-30 people from search engine traffic, but my goal is to bring is to around 200 a day. The Technorati ranking plummeted, because it has been 180 days for a lot of my links. So right now I have an authority of 5, when it was around 60 something. So my ranking is 1,100,000. And Alexa also fell, to around 1,200,000. And the Google Page rank is only 2 now. So that’s what it’s like now, and I encourage you to watch to see if I am truly capable to run a, “how to get traffic” site, by trying it on my own site.” This challenge will be a great test of my abilities, and of course along the way, I’ll let you know what works and what doesn’t so you can use it on your site. So that’s the state of things, and the great thing for you, is that I’ll be trying new websites for traffic, new ideas, and new strategies. Both in SEO and in Social Marketing, and you get to copy any successes I make, while ignoring the failures. So watch me! In my Journey Back to Success.
