I’ve found a new aspect of Google, that can be used for traffic. I discovered this accidentally, because of a new thing I’ve been doing with my blog.
Recently, I’ve been getting links from high page rank sites, by getting in their “Top Commentator” lists. After getting on about five lists, I wrote my last post, on blog directories, and then continued commenting on blogs for a little, then left the computer. I checked my statcounter later, and found that I’d gotten about 50 visits from Google Blog Search. Now granted, 50 visits isn’t a ton, but it’s specialized traffic, because they all came for the search term “Blog Directories.” It’s not like digg or stumble traffic, which is somewhat random.
The best part about Google Blog Search, is that it’s based on time, not PR. So a PR1 post can be ranked ahead of a PR9 post, assuming they were posted after. And there aren’t a clutter of posts being submitted, before my post there was a four hour gap for the next post on blog directories. And yet, there are still a lot of readers for this program. Because of the lack of posts submitted, my post was on the first page for about two days collecting traffic.
The only difficult part in all this, is how do you get added to the list? Though I got on it by accident, the way I did it I’ve realized, is because I commented on a blog that had a high enough PR so it was crawled instantly by the Google Spiders. So just comment on a couple PR6-8 sites and your posts will get crawled within the day.
The potential for traffic is awesome because any blogger could rank for a term like, Make Money Online, or Make Money Blogging, for an extended period. This has great upside with no real problems with it, because hopefully you should be already writing posts regularly, and also commenting on blogs regularly. Taking advantage of this site, can definitely increase your traffic.

Dangerous Don,
That sound like a great way to develop more traffic in a very targeted way. I for one, constantly use Google Blog Search. Specifically, I use it to listen to what is going on in regards to a few topics. Then if I really like the articles, I tweet them.
Using the platform itself to gain the traffic is genius. Nice work! I will need to start doing this as well.
