Using the tips I suggested in my post on how to set your goals. I’m going to share with you my goals for 2009. They are not extremely ambitious, In all honesty I hope to obtain these goals in only six months or less, but we’ll have to see.  You need to remember when you are making your resolutions, you can always create higher goals, but you can’t make them smaller without failing. Though for most things my philosophy is to shoot high, in this circumstance I would suggest aiming low, and when you accomplish those things then make them harder. So that was what I had in mind when I created these goals, and here they are, my goals for mastersofseo.com

This way I’ll be constantly completing my goals, and I’ll never be depressed because I’m always preforming better then I hoped.

So what are your Blogging goals for 2009?

This is certainly attainable Johnathan and I believe you should be able to hit this target within 6 months. For me, I focus only on 1 goal which is to make $2000/mth constantly on the combined earnings of all my site. Of course there are many supporting steps that I need to take to achieve this and let’s work for our goals.

    Cheers

But I set my goals a bit higher then that for this year…..and I only set one goal…

Very achievable targets you have there.

Setting incremental goals instead of stretch ones can be a smart move in blogging. For me, I’m aiming for:

    -. Under 200k in Alexa
-. Write a newsletter about my niche
    -. Redesign my blog template
-. Post at least once every 3 days

Let’s get our milestones done and shoot for net next ones!

Is the target of 200 visitors a day and reaching sub-100k Alexa ranking a realistic goal?

I’ve always thought that to be in the top 100k websites your traffic would have to be in the 30k-50k a month range at the very minimum.

Some nice goals, but I certainly think you could achieve much more than that. You have some great tips on your blog, and everything is very well written. Hope you achieve all your goals and get your Macbook!

  13. admin Says:

Thanks everybody, and no Solreka you don’t have to. Alexa is completely based around visitors with the Alexa ranking. Because of the niche I’m in, all of my traffic count for alexa traffic. Most don’t though, so that’s why I could get it relatively easy. Many sites have way more traffic then me, but don’t have as high rankings. Alexa’s a piece of junk.

I had no idea Alexa worked like that. Now I know how it works, I might be able to get a better rank. Thanks. :)

I would recommend putting a new theme high on the list. While I like the look of your theme overall, I don’t care for the huge RSS logo. I also noticed that the sidebar gets rendered first which isn’t that great either.

My own goals are primarily focused around creating niche marketing sites and blogs and in product creation (software and ebooks).
