Screengrab

Author: Will Fowler | Filed under: Bloggers

Ever seen on sites, the cool pictures they put up? Where they take selection pictures from a website, and then post it as a picture in their blog posts? It’s looks so professional and I wanted to know how to do it, but I assumed you would have to buy something. There’s a lot of computer programs you can buy to do that. But because one of my goals in running this blog is to spend zero dollars on it, and still make money, I wasn’t going to do that. But I found a free download that let’s you do the same thing. It’s quick and it’s easy, and I promise it’s not a virus. Like you I’m very wary of downloading anything, even from another blogger, because I don’t want to destroy my computer with some virus. But this one is safe and just a note for future, I will never post anything that I haven’t already tried and found to be safe.

The program is an Add-On for Fire Fox, if you don’t already have Fire Fox get it now here. It’s the best and fastest of the web browsers, and as there releasing more and more useful Add-Ons, it only becomes more and more essential. Here’s the link to download the program, it’s called Screengrab.

And just because I want to show you how it works here’s a picture of the site.

Instruction for use

You simply click Add to Firefox in the center of the page, and then click install. Within moments you’ll be able to add pictures to your blog posts as well. Once you have it installed it will ask you to restart your browser, don’t worry! Though it will exit out of your sites momentarily, when it loads back up again it will bring the same sites back up, but make sure you save any text you were writing.

The new application, will not be in the bottom right corner of your web browser. You’ll see a little yellow letter, in front of a blue globe like thing. To use the application click on that. Two little options will pop up, “save” or “copy.” To take a picture you click save, then choose either complete page, or selection. If you click selection your web browser will fog, and you click some where on the page and hold down over the selection you want to copy. Then when you let go it will ask you to save it, then it will immediately show up on your desktop with whatever name you chose, and it will be there for you to paste into your blog post.
