The main issue for newcomers to SEO is how to keep all the elements of SEO together, and effectively manage all the best practices for on page optimization in page design and copywriting as well as off page elements like blog posting / link building and so on. I was one of those who battled and then after getting into software marketing almost by accident 7 years ago, we decided to put our own seo software package together (we already did keyword research and adwords intelligence) which does the lot. It took us two years to develop but the results were worth it; there is a free seo software trial version there if you want to try it. Also just included a complete blog manager link building module.

I think you should do #2 before #1. When I figure out all my keywords and have a list, I would write a blog post with titles matching each of the keywords.

I’ve found that the best way to climb the ranking in a niche is to use good title tags and write good content.

You can spend hours getting inbound links, but if you write good quality content people will link to you anyway.
